PE REVIEW CLASS



Friday, July 18th is the last day to postmark your application to take the annual Professional Engineering License exam for Control Systems Engineering in California. The exam will be held Friday, October 24, 2008, in Pomona, San Diego, Visalia, Sacramento and San Francisco.

Monday, July 21st is the last day to register for the PE Review Course and receive $100 off the registration cost. (You saying, “Sign me up!” is not “registration.” Us saying, “We got your check” is “registration.” Registration fee is 100% refundable by the first class day, but we cannot hold a seat without payment.)

It may take a couple of weeks to get all the materials together that the application process requires, so be sure to start the application early. Complete information about the PE license, links to the State website and review course schedule is posted at www.pe-exam.net.

The California Engineer-in-Training/Fundamentals of Engineering Exam will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008, with an application deadline of Friday, August 22, 2008. ISALA is not offering a review course for the EIT this year; however if you are interested in an EIT course, please contact the section president or education chair.

Review course offered

ISA Los Angeles Section is once again offering its highly successful review course again this year. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings beginning August 16 through October 4. Four classes will be held at the Orange County Sanitation District offices in Fountain Valley and 2 classes held at Genentech in Oceanside. Car pooling will be arranged for those interested.

The cost is being kept low because the course is supported by the portion of your ISA dues that goes to the Los Angeles Section. ISALA has chosen to continue offering this course as a member benefit and not as a money-making enterprise. This course has been evaluated each year by those who have taken the exam as superior to other courses charging over $1000.

Early sign-up discount

Monday, July 21st is the deadline to sign up for the ISALA PE Review Course at the base cost of $195. After July 21st, cost will be $295. Add $16 for members of other sections. Add $85 for non-members (fee includes 1 year membership in ISA). To pay by credit cards, add 5%.

Registration cost includes all six lectures, materials handed out by the instructors and breakfast. Attendees are responsible for purchasing any other materials and books, including the ISA study guide which will be used in the course.

Webinars offered free

As a cursory review, ISA has made pre-recorded CSE course webinars available to members at no cost. Webinars can be found at www.isa.org.
